Trademark

The Restorationist® is a registered trade mark of AC Dev Services, LLC, registered with the UK Intellectual Property Office under number UK00004296285 in Class 41 (electronic publishing). This publication and its operations are solely owned and controlled by AC Dev Services, LLC.

Ownership

The Restorationist® is owned and operated by AC Dev Services, LLC, headquartered in Los Angeles, CA (PDT), with a regional office in Austin, TX (CDT).

Authors often use pseudonyms (Noms de Plume) and/or AI avatars when writing articles, as per the tradition established in the US constitutional ratification period and in many British periodicals. Other than being a stylistic choice, pen names allow for writing freely about controversial themes and protecting journalistic sources.

Corrections

For corrections, complaints, disputes, or the right-of-reply, email the editorial staff with specific details at [email protected]. Please include references which validate your facts. In the rare case of a claim of libel or another extremely serious subject, please contact [email protected] immediately.

If you are an author and would like your article removed, please email [email protected] for immediate assistance.

Use Of Generative AI

Like any small electronic publication, we make use of AI tools when preparing articles for publication. We do not use them for writing articles. We employ AI for the purposes of:

  • Quick factual research briefings when investigating a specific topic;
  • Sourcing references and links which provide further factual evidence for claims;
  • Spelling, grammar, SEO, and structural literary analysis;
  • Fast fact-checking of article submissions to flag dubious claims;
  • Generating conceptual cover art for article mastheads.

Our policy on the use of tools like ChatGPT to generate slop are made clear in our editorial guidelines.

Our authors routinely use AI-generated avatars (profile pictures) to accompany their pseudonyms. They are encouraged to do this as editorial policy for reasons of privacy. We do not desire notoriety and believe our work should be more important than the writer.

If you have any kind of concerns related to the use of AI, please email [email protected].

The Basics

We reserve the right to publish, decline, or edit submissions at our sole discretion, in accordance with our editorial standards. We do not publish content on demand, nor do we allow advertisers, governments, or third parties to influence our editorial process.

Jurisdiction

This publication is operated and controlled from within the United States by AC Dev Services, LLC.

Although we maintain a portfolio of .uk domain names, this does not constitute acceptance of United Kingdom jurisdiction or consent to the application of UK or EU laws, regulations, or tribunals.

Our editorial operations, hosting, and data processing are conducted under United States law, including the protections of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and applicable federal statutes governing online speech and intermediary immunity (such as 47 U.S.C. § 230).

These protections extend to our authors, editors, and readers, including those writing or commenting under pseudonyms.

Contributors based outside the United States, including those in the United Kingdom, participate under the same U.S. legal framework and enjoy the benefit of U.S. free-speech standards and safe-harbour provisions.

Section 230 and Extraterritorial Demands

Under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, we are not liable for user-submitted content, including comments, unless we actively curate or materially contribute to it. Foreign defamation judgments, content delisting orders, or censorship demands are not enforceable against us in the U.S.

In Google Inc. v. Equustek Solutions Inc. ([2017] 1 S.C.R. 34 (Can.)), the Supreme Court of Canada attempted to enforce a global delisting order—an approach strongly criticized in the U.S. for violating both Section 230 and First Amendment principles. Unless compelled by a valid order from a U.S. court of competent jurisdiction, we will not alter or remove lawful speech.

However, foreign readers and contributors should be aware that foreign laws may still apply to them, and we cannot shield them from legal exposure outside the United States.

If you believe content hosted here infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA takedown request under 17 U.S.C. § 512. Your notice must include:
