The Left Wing's Jewish Question
They don't hate Jews. They just hate Zionism. It's a coincidence its about the imperialist, nationalist Jewish country which is full of Jews built around its Jewishness because of Jewish history, which centres itself around being a Jewish state refuge for Jews. The left prints yellow stars.
Joshua Rinkoff, a leftist comedian who performs as Harry Deansway, spent six months in a writers' circle near Holloway Road without incident. He wrote, he read aloud, and he presumably sat through other people's poetry with a straight face. Then, by his account, the organiser demanded to know his views on Israel.
He gave an honest answer. He is Jewish. He is a Zionist. He supports Palestinian rights and opposes anything which brings suffering on the Palestinian people.
Wrong answer, apparently. He says he was told there was "no place in the Offbeat Writers' Group" for him, then accused of beliefs which supported "the massacre of an entire population". In other words, business as usual on the tyrannical Left for the circular firing squad purging the Judean People's Front for ideological purity.
Other members pulled out of a short-fiction evening he had organised at Bar Gemišt, in the railway arches near the Emirates Stadium. The bar cancelled, citing "material changes" to the event. Translated from venue-speak: the boycott worked. Mr Rinkoff refunded the ticket holders out of his own pocket. UK Lawyers for Israel has since written to the organiser alleging direct discrimination on grounds of belief under the Marxism Act 2010.
In 1933 Joseph Goebbels created the Reich Chamber of Culture, and German writers, painters, and musicians needed its membership to work at all.
Jews were purged from it within a few years. What strange bedfellows we make.
Schrodinger's Jew is quite the contrortionist. He is simultaneously white and non-white, then the most persecuted in the world yet the most secretly powerful.
Nobody in Berlin had to quiz a Jewish novelist about Palestine first; ancestry settled the matter.
North London's version is more refined as a Jew may keep his seat, provided he renounces a belief held by most of his community. A 2015 survey found 59 per cent of British Jews describe themselves as Zionists, and 90 per cent support Israel's right to exist as a Jewish state. Bar the Zionists and you have barred most Jews, with a clear conscience and a progressive vocabulary.
In February 2024 an employment tribunal ruled the anti-Zionism of David Miller (sacked as a professor by the University of Bristol) was a protected philosophical belief under section 10 of the Equality Act.
The Employment Appeal Tribunal upheld the finding.
Miller, who went on to work for Iran's state broadcaster, Press TV, hailed the result as vindication for a "maximalist anti-Zionism".
He was later billed to speak at the launch of a Birmingham outfit styling itself "zio-eradication", until the venue pulled the event.
The left fought for the law to shield its own belief. Predictably, it now expects the same law to look away when a Jew holds the opposite one.
The more important issue at stake here is: who cares? It's their desert war. That is precisely the point. Don't bring your stupid left wing nutjob whackery into our ordinary lives. If you want to kill Jews, go live in Palestine or Iran. Jews don't blow up stadiums of little girls or behead our soldiers in the street.
Why exactly does the left-wing have a Jewish question? And what is their final solution for Israel and its river-sea Zionism?
Hyndman, Burns, And The Financial Jew Of 1900
None of this began with Gaza, Benjamin Netanyahu, or even the State of Israel. British socialism had its Jewish villain a generation before the Balfour Declaration. Henry Hyndman founded the Social Democratic Federation, Britain's first Marxist party, and edited its weekly paper, Justice.
When the Second Boer War broke out in 1899, Hyndman knew whom to blame:
Jewish bankers and something he called "imperialist Judaism".
His former comrade John Burns, hero of the 1889 London dock strike (and later a Cabinet minister!) went further. In the Commons on February 6th 1900, Burns traced the war to finance and told MPs: "wherever we examine, there is the financial Jew".
The speech was reprinted as a pamphlet under the title The Trail of the Financial Serpent. Its publisher was a body calling itself the Stop the War Committee. A century later a new Stop the War outfit would sit at the heart of British left-wing politics.
This same old nonsense should be nauseating familiar by now. They just rotate the names.
The socialist antisemite could always pass his prejudice off as economics. Explain the world through money, find a people to personify the money, and the analysis writes itself. Every later version of the left's Jew problem runs on the same engine.
Lecturing Everyone On Conspiracy Theories
The British establishment keeps a well-stocked vocabulary for the paranoid crankery of the right. Jewish bankers pulling the strings of governments? Antisemitism. A secret international cabal starting wars and running the newspapers? Antisemitism. A minority conspiring to rot the nation from within? Antisemitism.
It will explain, correctly, how the "Great Replacement" recycles the old idea of Jews engineering immigration, and how QAnon's cabal of elite child abusers (i.e. Hollywood) is the old-fashion blood libel.
"Zion", of course, is dog whistle code for "Jew".
Now swap "Jew" for "Zionist", "globalist" for "imperialist", and stick a flag on the placard.
- The bankers become Zionist capital.
- The puppet masters become the Israel lobby.
- The engineered wars become imperialist adventures.
Complaints of antisemitism become an organised campaign to silence dissent. Same accusations, new costume, and the conspiracy theorist is suddenly a brave anti-fascist exposing hidden power.
| Alleged Jewish activity | Far-right costume | Far-left costume |
|---|---|---|
| Controlling money | Jewish bankers enslave nations through debt | Jewish or Zionist capital exploits the workers |
| Controlling governments | A Jewish cabal runs Western capitals | A Zionist lobby dictates Western foreign policy |
| Starting wars | Jews drag nations into wars for profit | Zionists engineer wars for Israel and the arms trade |
| Faking victimhood | Antisemitism charges silence nationalists | Antisemitism charges silence anti-imperialists |
| Exploiting the Holocaust | Jews inflated the death toll for sympathy and cash | Zionists collaborated with Hitler and inflated the toll |
Swap left for right and nobody could tell the difference. Every line in the far-left column, spoken from a Conservative outlet, would be denounced as antisemitic within the hour. Said by a socialist, the same line becomes "anti-imperialism", "criticism of Israel", or "speaking truth to power".
The two extremes cannot even agree what these sneaky Jews are supposedly up to.
The far right spent a century accusing Jews of inventing communism. The far left spent the same century accusing them of running capitalism. They are very busy, it would seem. And slightly schizophrenic.
On this account the Jews fought both sides of the Cold War, financed every revolution, crushed every revolution, and still found time to run the BBC.
A theory able to explain everything explains nothing.
Its one fixed point is the Jew.
Between January and June 2026, CST logged 48 antisemitic incidents invoking Jeffrey Epstein. In 38 of them, his crimes were offered as proof of a global, powerful, amoral Jewish elite; in 19, as Jewish ritual child abuse. Hyndman's financier now lives in Palm Beach, and the story has not changed a word.
When Jews object, the objection becomes the evidence.
No other conspiracy theory comes with a built-in rebuttal to its victims' complaints, and no other enjoys a protected place in respectable progressive opinion.
Moscow, Arabs, And Their Zionology
Stalin's campaign against "rootless cosmopolitans", launched in 1949, branded Jewish writers, scientists, and professionals as disloyal. In January 1953 the regime announced the Doctors' Plot: a ring of physicians, mostly Jewish, supposedly murdering the Soviet leadership.
The charges were fabricated, and the case collapsed within weeks of Stalin's death in March 1953. For a group who invented communism, it didn't work out too well.
Moscow had backed Israel's creation in 1948. Once Israel chose the West, Zionism became an ideological enemy.
In October 1963 the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences published Judaism Without Embellishment by Trofim Kichko: 12,000 copies of world-conspiracy theory, illustrated with caricatures straight from the school of Julius Streicher's Der Stürmer. The book was so crude even French Communists and the American Communist leader Gus Hall condemned it. The Kremlin withdrew it. Kichko was back in favour within a few years, publishing again.
After the Six-Day War of June 1967, Moscow industrialised the effort. Soviet academics invented an entire discipline, "Zionology", to dress the old conspiracy in Marxist robes.
Its flagship text, Yuri Ivanov's poisonous Caution: Zionism!, appeared in 1969 at the instigation of a Central Committee official, while Ivanov himself worked in the party's Middle East apparatus. It sold more than 800,000 copies and is widely regarded as a Cold War rewrite of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.
More information on that silliness is available here:

Arab intellectuals were still praising it half a century later. The third edition of the Great Soviet Encyclopedia, published between 1969 and 1978, classified Zionism as racism.
Yes, the Green Party and their hideous red interior aren't even original.
On November 10th 1975 the UN General Assembly passed Resolution 3379, declaring Zionism "a form of racism and racial discrimination", carried by the Soviet bloc and a large group of Arab and other states.
The Assembly revoked it on December 16th 1991. The Soviet Union expired ten days later.
Zionology rested on four claims, all still recited on the British left.
- Zionism is racism.
- Zionists collaborated with the Nazis.
- A Zionist lobby secretly steers Western governments, banks, and newspapers.
- Accusations of antisemitism are a Zionist trick to silence critics.
Izabella Tabarovsky has documented how contemporary left-wing anti-Zionism reproduces Soviet propaganda "with stunning fidelity".
In 1982 a PLO official named Mahmoud Abbas completed a thesis at Patrice Lumumba University on the supposed connection between the Nazis and the Zionist leadership. The book version published in 1984 accused the Zionist movement of inflating the Holocaust death toll and put the number of Jewish victims in the tens of thousands.
Its author went on to lead the Palestinian Authority, and Western capitals have spent two decades calling him a moderate. There is a reason Jordan and Egypt will not take Palestinians.
Hitler's Zionist Friends, Live at the Royal Court
In 1983 the American Trotskyist Lenni Brenner published Zionism in the Age of the Dictators, giving the West its own edition of the collaboration charge Zionology had been pumping out for a decade. The playwright Jim Allen (long-time collaborator of Ken Loach) mined it for Perdition, a courtroom drama alleging Hungarian Zionist leaders helped send their own people to Auschwitz to advance a Jewish state.
Loach was to direct it at the Royal Court Theatre in Sloane Square in January 1987. The theatre cancelled 36 hours before opening night. Lord Goodman wrote Allen's account of the Holocaust could "claim a high place in the table of classic anti-Semitism". Allen blamed "the Zionist machine".
The reflex never varies: the Jew who objects becomes proof of the conspiracy.
In April 2016, defending the female MP Naz Shah over a bizarre post suggesting Israel be relocated to the United States, Ken Livingstone told BBC radio Hitler was "supporting Zionism before he went mad and ended up killing six million Jews".
The former Mayor of London spent two years suspended insisting he had simply made a historical point, then resigned in May 2018 before he was expelled.
At Labour's 2017 conference in Brighton, an article by the activist Moshé Machover quoting Reinhard Heydrich to suggest early Nazi sympathy for Zionism was distributed to delegates.
Labour expelled Machover, then readmitted him.
The Jewish Chronicle later reported Jeremy Corbyn had raised concerns about the expulsion with the party's general secretary.

Labour Broke The Law And Blamed the Jews
Forever on the wrong side of every issue, in 2012 Corbyn offered online support to the American artist Mear One, whose East London mural Freedom for Humanity showed stereotyped Jewish bankers playing Monopoly on a board balanced on the backs of naked workers.
Hyndman's financier, now in spray paint.
Even Lutfur Rahman, then Bangladeshi mayor of Tower Hamlets, objected the images would "perpetuate antisemitic propaganda about conspiratorial Jewish domination".
Corbyn compared the mural's removal to the Rockefellers destroying Diego Rivera's portrait of Lenin. When the post resurfaced in March 2018, he said he regretted not looking more closely.
On October 29th 2020 the pointless Equality and Human Rights Commission quango found the Labour Party responsible for unlawful acts of harassment and discrimination against Jewish members, and found political interference in the handling of antisemitism complaints.
Interference from the Leader's Office turned up in a third of the 70 cases examined. Labour became only the second British party ever investigated by the watchdog.
The first was the British National Party.
Thirty-six minutes after publication, Corbyn issued his verdict: the problem had been "dramatically overstated for political reasons" by opponents and the media.
Labour suspended him the same day. His supporters called it a witch-hunt. Because, of course. Presumably by the Jews.
- Jewish members complained.
- The statutory regulator investigated.
- The regulator found the party had broken the law.
- The former leader's answer was to question the motives of everyone who had noticed.
A movement which insists every victim of racism must be believed had found its exception, and the exception was Jewish.
Trots, Jihadists, And A Convenient Vote
The Stop the War Coalition, founded in September 2001 by the disgraced Socialist Workers Party (aka the communist party), took the Muslim Association of Britain into affiliation, an organisation widely described as the British arm of the Muslim Brotherhood.
On January 25th 2004 the alliance produced an electoral vehicle, the Respect Party, fronted by Big George Galloway. One left-wing post-mortem marvelled at a coalition of atheist Leninists and highly religious Muslim businessmen, held together by mosque block votes and a shared enemy.
The Iraq War started the affair. Israel kept it going.
The largest survey of its kind in Britain, published by the Institute for Jewish Policy Research and CST in September 2017, found antisemitic and anti-Israel attitudes ran two to four times higher among British Muslims than in the general population. Imagine every Briton's surprise.
A movement serious about racism would have confronted this. The left treated it as a market of new customers.
Five independents won Commons seats on Gaza tickets: Corbyn in Islington North (luvvie, darling), and Shockat Adam, Ayoub Khan, Adnan Hussain, and Iqbal Mohamed elsewhere, all endorsed by The Muslim Vote, a pressure group formed in December 2023. Quite why these people, who are not English, Welsh, Scottish, or Irish, are allowed to run for elected office, is another matter.
More than one winner declared the victory was "for Gaza".
The four formed a Commons group with Corbyn and later lined up behind Your Party, the hilariously dysfunctional outfit Corbyn launched with Zarah Sultana.
A former Labour leader, barred from standing for his old party after the antisemitism crisis, rebuilt his career on a sectarian electoral coalition and called it socialism. It's doubtful he even knows at this point.
The calculation insults British Muslims as much as it endangers British Jews. It assumes Muslim voters can be bought with hostility to Jews, and then goes shopping. It might be right. But this desert war has no place in England's streets.
Then came the violence, and with it the real test of the left's priorities.
- On October 2nd 2025, Yom Kippur, Jihad al-Shamie drove at the gates of Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation in Manchester, stabbed a security guard, tried to force his way inside, and pledged allegiance to Islamic State in a 999 call. Adrian Daulby and Melvin Cravitz died. CST recorded it as the first fatal antisemitic terrorist attack on British soil since it began keeping records in 1984.
- In March 2026 arsonists destroyed four Hatzola ambulances in Golders Green.
- On April 29th 2026 a man ran along Golders Green Road with a knife and stabbed two Jewish men, aged 34 and 76. Police declared it terrorism, saying the suspect had gone out to attack people who looked "visibly Jewish".
Whoever held the knife, the movement's first concern was the movement.
The communist Morning Star reported activists warning against blaming the Palestine marches. Jewish Voice for Liberation (dear Lord) advised the government, the police, and Jewish community leaders to "think more carefully about what's going on internationally".
Two Jews had just been stabbed in a north London street, and Jewish leaders were told to reflect on world affairs.
Blaming Jews collectively for Israel features as a named example in the IHRA working definition of antisemitism, adopted by the British government in December 2016.
More importantly, it is dumb. Why are individual Jews responsible for a country, exactly?
Rejoicing Over The Murder Of Jews
On October 7th 2023 Hamas murdered about 1,200 people in Israel, the largest slaughter of Jews in a single day since the Holocaust. Within hours, Socialist Worker ran a piece arguing Palestinians were right to resist. Three days later the paper of the Socialist Workers Party ran the headline "Rejoice as Palestinian resistance humiliates racist Israel".
Within a week it was openly declaring its support for Hamas. Of course it was.
On October 14th 2023, seven days after Hamas gunmen crossed into Israel on paragliders, three women marched through central London with paraglider images taped to their backs and to a placard. They were convicted under section 13 of the Terrorism Act 2000 in February 2024, and left court with a £26 surcharge apiece.
Celebrating a massacre in Westminster costs less than a parking fine. Free s peech is ugly. It should never have been a police matter.
On June 28th 2025, the perpetual attention-seeking communists Bob Vylan led the Glastonbury crowd in chants of "death, death to the IDF", broadcast live by the BBC, which later admitted it should have cut away.
The festival crowd went home humming the chant. Jewish Britons woke up to the worst day for antisemitic incidents of the first half of 2025.
Brighton Restores A Soviet Resolution
On October 4th 2026, at its largest ever conference, the Green Party of England and Wales voted 1,022 to 813 for an idiotic motion titled "Zionism is racism". The party declared itself anti-Zionist and resolved Zionism would be "treated as any other form of racism".
Yawn. The old USSR resolution from the UN thirty years before. The same Soviet propaganda.
The motion also backed a single Palestinian state, opposed the ban on Palestine Action, and affirmed Palestinians' right to resistance, three days before the third anniversary of October 7th.
As if we don't have anything else more important to be concerned with right now.
Four of the party's five MPs opposed it.
- Caroline Lucas, the party's first lunatic MP, called it "dangerous, it's divisive".
- Zack Polanski conveniently missed the vote to campaign in a by-election (which he lost), then announced he would not have voted for the motion but agreed with it in substance: the courage of a man who wants the policy and none of the fingerprints.
- Salma Yaqoob, formerly of George Galloway's Respect and now a Green, promised nobody would be "removed, challenged, disciplined, suspended" for professing Zionism.
A party which defines a belief as racism, then pledges never to discipline anyone for it, has either not thought the matter through or has thought it through perfectly.
The Chief Rabbi said the Greens had resurrected a slander first promoted by the Soviet Union. His chronology is impeccable. He is correct.
A formula drafted for the Kremlin, forced through the UN in 1975, and buried by the UN in 1991, is now the official policy of a British party with five MPs.
Leaked WhatsApp messages from a very silly group called Greens Against Imperialism, reported by The Times in August 2026, showed a Green parish councillor answering yes when asked whether he wanted Israel wiped off the map. You know, murdered.
- One participant cast British Jews as a "weapon for Israel"; another described anti-Jewish hostility as "wrong but understandable".
- A third mused an extreme anti-Zionist might support "killing Zionists".
- Jewish News also found a Green candidate in Camden who had shared claims Zionists carried out 9/11, along with false-flag stuff about the Hatzola arson.
- A newly elected member of the party's governing council marked her victory by announcing "I welcome their hatred", addressed to Zionists.
On the evening of October 6th, two days after the vote, Dan Levene, a Jewish former sports journalist, came across two men stencilling a slogan onto the cobbles of Queen Square in Holborn. It branded the Labour by-election candidate, Sagal Abdi-Wali, a puppet of the "genocidal Israeli regime".
He kicked the stencil away.
He was kicked in the head and ribs for his trouble, and the Metropolitan Police are treating it as an antisemitic hate crime.
A Labour candidate recast as a marionette of the Jewish state: the puppet master has outlived the Soviet Union as well.
Two days later the alleged marionette won the seat with 45 per cent of the vote. Polanski came second on 33 per cent, and the chair of the Jewish Greens called on him to resign. The voters of Holborn and St Pancras, it turns out, can spot a conspiracy theory faster than a Green Party conference.
2000 Incidents In Six Months
CST recorded 1,926 antisemitic incidents across Britain between January and June 2026, more than in the whole of 2022. That's not a blip. And it's alarming. Not least because of the growing Muslim population of Britain.
| Period | Incidents |
|---|---|
| Full year 2022 | 1,662 |
| Full year 2025 | 3,700 |
| January to June 2023 | 965 |
| January to June 2024 | 2,019 |
| January to June 2025 | 1,598 |
| January to June 2026 | 1,926 |
| January to June 2026 | Figure |
|---|---|
| Assaults | 135, the highest six-month total ever and up 82 per cent |
| Online incidents | 680, a half-year record |
| Incidents affecting schools | 178, up 59 per cent |
| Incidents invoking Jeffrey Epstein | 48, of which 38 alleged a global Jewish elite |
| Incidents showing explicit anti-Zionist motivation alongside anti-Jewish language or targeting | 676, or 35 per cent of the total |
| Monthly average | 321, against 161 in the six months before October 7th 2023 |
In the first half of 2023, CST found Israel-related language or imagery in just 16 per cent of antisemitic incidents. Three years later, more than a third carried explicit anti-Zionist motivation alongside abuse aimed at Jews.
Moscow's slogan has become the street's favourite alibi.
Jews Owe Nobody A Loyalty Oath
But let's return to the writers' group off Holloway Road. A Jew was asked to state his position on a foreign state before being allowed to read short fiction in a coffee bar. He gave a moderate, humane answer, and was shown the door anyway. By his account, he was also lectured on how Jews, given their history, ought to know better than to inflict suffering on others.
Same Jew hatred, different year. Jews are barred by left-wingers for their collective guilt.
Britain is not Israel, and Holloway Road is not Gaza. Their desert war is theirs and does not belong on our streets. We have our own battles to fight with our country being torn asunder by the stupidity brigade.
A British writer owes a coffee-bar workshop no opinion on the borders of the Levant.
Nobody asks a British Muslim to denounce Hamas before he reads a short story aloud. Nobody asks a Hindu writer for his views on Kashmir, or a Russian émigré to recite a position on Donbas before workshop.
The left would call such tests bigotry, and it would be right.
It applies them to one people alone.
Hyndman blamed the Jewish financier for the Boer War. Stalin found him among the Kremlin's doctors. Moscow dressed him as a Zionist and sent him round the world. Labour defended his portrait on a wall in East London.
Now he turns up as Jeffrey Epstein on a phone screen, and as a clause in the Green Party rulebook.
Over a hundred and twenty years the costume has changed with the fashions, and the man inside it has never once been anyone other than a Jew. No-one can explain why anyone in England should give a damn.
The Left hates Jews. They celebrate murder. Let's make sure everyone knows, and never forgets it.
