Mass Immigration And Multiculturalism Are No Vaccine Against Another Nazi Germany

Europe's leftist classes nurse a belief too daft to say aloud: a united people is a Reich in waiting, and strangers are the vaccine. Weimar, Vienna, Srebrenica, and every serious study of trust and voting say otherwise. After sixty years of its slow strange death, the patient is sicker than ever.

Mass Immigration And Multiculturalism Are No Vaccine Against Another Nazi Germany

At a January Podemos rally in Zaragoza, lunatic communist Irene Montero (MEP and former Spanish equality minister) held up a small jar. She told the crowd it was nearly full of the tears of fascists and racists, harvested since the Spanish government agreed four days earlier to "regularise" more than half a million "irregular migrants" (i.e. give unwarranted mass amnesty to illegal invaders).

It didn't go so well for the communists, or for Spain generally. 60,000 invaders massed on the Spanish border and started killing baby dolphins for food.

Having shown off her collection of bottled opponents, she promised her party would work to give the "newly legalised" the vote, either by easing naturalisation or by rewriting the law on voting rights. Then came the line which had reached Elon Musk's feed within a day: she hoped Spain could:

sweep this country clean of fascists and racists with migrant people.

Her party later insisted she had been "ironic". Irony rarely arrives with a legislative programme attached.

Montero was careful to name "fascists" and "racists" as her target, rather than Spaniards by blood. A fine distinction, until one asks who qualifies. The Vox party, which Podemos calls fascist as reflexively as other people say "bless you", stood at almost 18 per cent in the state's own CIS polling at the time. Several million Spanish voters is a great many tears for one jar, and a great many people to sweep.

Her only real offence was saying it out loud. Across Western Europe the same belief sits beneath immigration and integration policy like damp behind wallpaper: everybody in the house knows it is there, and nobody wants to peel back the paper.

It runs roughly as follows.

  1. A people too united is a people halfway to the Reich.
  2. The cure is to make it less united.
  3. Bring in enough newcomers, recognise enough separate identities, and no future Hitler will ever find a Volk to rally.

As fire prevention goes, it is on a par with burning the house down to spare it a chimney fire. Leftists aren't known for their intellectual rigour or common sense, but as hypotheses go this one is both bad faith and stupid.

From Shared Ancestry To Auschwitz

Stripped to its working parts, the doctrine reads like a flowchart drawn by a frightened sixth-former. It's a remarkably dumb idea a lot of left-wing people accept without thought or critique, which actually makes no sense at all. The premise is when white people band together, you get fascism genocide. Because, Nazis.

  1. A people sharing ancestry, language, faith, and memory develops national feeling.
  2. National feeling elects nationalist governments.
  3. Nationalist governments turn fascist.
  4. Fascists persecute minorities.
  5. Persecution ends in genocide.
  6. The only safe course is to dissolve the majority before it can take the first step.

Every step is false.

  1. National feeling exists in every settled people, in the same way loyalty exists in every family, and only a paranoiac treats Sunday lunch as a plot.
  2. Nationalist governments do get elected, and then, as Poland and Hungary have just demonstrated, they get voted out.
  3. German fascism grew from military defeat, hyperinflation, and mass unemployment in a bitterly divided country.
  4. Genocide needs a second group to murder, and the worst of the last century took place in empires and states founded on the very ideal of peoples living together.
  5. As for diluting the majority, diversity lowers social trust and swells the vote for the parties it was supposed to starve. As we will see.

A theory with this many holes would sink a pedalo.

It currently steers half a continent.

Marcuse, Adorno, And Guilt Before the Crime

After 1945 the émigré thinkers of the Frankfurt School refused to treat Nazism as a German catastrophe with German causes. They recast it as a latent infection of ordinary Western life, dormant in every suburb and parish, waiting for the right conditions. It was a pathology they had identified for garbage psychology literature.

Theodor Adorno and his colleagues published The Authoritarian Personality in 1950, complete with an "F-scale" to measure the fascist potential of ordinary Americans. Attachment to one's own group, respect for convention, and wariness of outsiders all scored as warning signs.

A grandmother fond of her parish church and suspicious of strangers could now be graded for proto-fascism by a man with a clipboard. The questionnaire has never been bettered as a device for finding Nazis in a village fête. It is "studied" in English classrooms at GCSE level as serious scholastic material.

The satanic Herbert Marcuse went further. His disgusting 1965 word salad promoting reverse fascism, Repressive Tolerance, absurdly declared the whole post-war period a continuing emergency.

Even-handed liberal tolerance, he argued, merely protected the existing order and its oppressions. His remedy was a rule any football referee would be sacked for applying:

intolerance against movements from the Right and toleration of movements from the Left.

He wanted tolerance withdrawn at the stage of speech, print, and assembly, before anybody had done anything at all. Guilt would attach to the suspected tendency rather than the act.

A pre-crime unit, staffed by nutjob left-wing sociology lecturers.

In West Germany, Jürgen Habermas offered the decaffeinated version. His "constitutional patriotism" asked citizens to direct their loyalty towards a constitution and its procedures rather than towards a people and its history. The nation would survive as a legal shell, scrubbed clean of the kinship and memory which had supposedly made it dangerous.

Men have died for their country throughout recorded history. Very few have died for a set of procedures, and nobody has ever felt homesick for one.

None of these men drew up an immigration quota. They never needed to.

They supplied the premise: a people with a strong sense of itself is a standing menace, and preventive action against the menace is a moral duty.

Later governments supplied the arrivals, and a generation of graduates supplied the vocabulary.

Nazi Support Was Marked By Religion

The doctrine's picture of 1933 resembles a school assembly from an Orwell novel: one dystopian brainwashed people, one mind, marching into darkness in step. Anyone who has opened a history of the Weimar Republic knows better. It was one of the most fractured societies in Europe.

Its parliament was splintered among more than a dozen parties.

Communists and Nazis fought pitched battles in the streets, most notoriously at Altona in July 1932.

Economists Jörg Spenkuch and Philipp Tillmann found religion was the single strongest predictor of the Nazi vote: comparing wholly Protestant counties with wholly Catholic ones, the Nazi share fell by 27.6 percentage points. In July 1932 the party's vote was almost twice as high in Protestant areas as in Catholic ones.

Bavaria and the Rhineland held out for the Catholic Centre Party while Protestant farming districts went over in droves.

The Nazi surge tracked the dole queue. Ethnic solidarity barely enters the story.

Reichstag Election Nazi Share of the Vote Conditions
May 1928 2.6% Brief recovery after the 1923 hyperinflation
September 1930 18.3% Depression under way, unemployment past three million
July 1932 37.3% Roughly six million out of work, street violence endemic
November 1932 33.1% Nazis lose two million votes as the economy steadies

Hitler never won a majority in a free election. He was appointed Chancellor on 30th January 1933 through a backroom arrangement between Franz von Papen and President Paul von Hindenburg, two grandees who believed they could manage him.

Dictatorship arrived through the emergency powers of Article 48, the Reichstag Fire Decree, and the Enabling Act of 23rd March 1933. Constitutional failure, economic ruin, and the vanity of old men did the work.

No serious historian has yet blamed the fall of Weimar on a shortage of foreigners.

Hitler Emerged From A Multinational City

The man himself is the doctrine's most embarrassing witness. Hitler did not grow up in some sealed, uniform Germanic hamlet. From 1906 to 1913 he lived in Vienna, capital of Austria-Hungary, an empire of a dozen nationalities locked in permanent quarrel.

The historian Brigitte Hamann spent years reconstructing his time there in Hitler's Vienna. The city she found was a cauldron of rivalry between Germans, Czechs, Jews, Poles, and Magyars, fought out over schools, jobs, housing, and parliamentary seats.

Reviewers summarised her finding plainly: the most multinational empire in Europe was obsessed with nation, race, and degeneracy, and those obsessions became Hitler's own.

He took his political methods from Karl Lueger, the city's antisemitic mayor, and his racial theories from the cheap pamphlets passed around the men's hostel where he lodged.

Daily contact with Czechs, Jews, Poles, and Magyars ought to have turned the young painter into a model cosmopolitan.

He left Vienna carrying every hatred he would later put into practice.

The architect of the Holocaust was a graduate of diversity, and the left's own founding case study testifies against it. Few theories manage to be refuted by their own villain.

Genocide Needs A Second Group

The Genocide Convention defines the crime as acts intended to destroy a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group. A people with no internal divisions has nobody to destroy in this sense. Every genocide therefore takes place in a mixed society, and the twentieth century's record is unkind to the states which made a public creed out of peoples living together.

Every one of those states had an official doctrine of coexistence. The mass graves are not in Iceland.

Yugoslavia ran the very experiment Europe is running now.

For four decades Tito's state suppressed national feeling, celebrated a multinational identity, and locked up anyone who objected. When the state weakened, the suppressed nations did not melt into one another. They reached for their rifles.

The most cited study of civil conflict since 1945, by James Fearon and David Laitin of Stanford, found the decisive risk factors were poverty, weak states, political instability, and rough terrain.

Ethnic make-up, once those were accounted for, explained little.

Catastrophe follows collapse. A government frightened of the next Hitler ought to be frightened of collapse: worthless money, idle millions, a paralysed parliament, and a state unable to keep order on its own streets.

Importing a new population cures none of these and aggravates several.

Homogeneous Nationalists Keep Losing

If ethnic uniformity were the fuse of fascism, Central Europe ought to be ablaze. Poland is among the most ethnically uniform countries in the European Union. It elected a national-conservative government under Law and Justice in 2015, grew tired of it, and voted it out in October 2023. Power passed to Donald Tusk in December. The tanks stayed in their sheds.

Hungary makes the deeper case.

Viktor Orbán spent sixteen years as the pantomime villain of every Brussels corridor and Sunday supplement, the continent's favourite candidate for the next Führer. In April 2026 Hungarian voters removed him in a landslide on record turnout.

He called the result painful and conceded the same night.

No camps. No Kristallnacht. A concession speech, a telephone call to the winner, and a removal van in Budapest.

A uniform people with strong national feeling behaved exactly like every other electorate: it rewarded a government, tired of it, and threw it out.

Diversity Lowers Trust

The other half of the idea promises magical "diversity" will soften national solidarity into a gentle, civic tolerance. The research has not cooperated. In 2007 the Harvard political scientist Robert Putnam, a liberal and no friend of the right, found residents of more diverse American communities trusted their neighbours less (including neighbours of their own group) and withdrew from civic life altogether.

His phrase for the effect, "hunker down", has never been bettered.

In 2020 a meta-analysis by Dinesen, Schaeffer, and Sønderskov pooled 1,001 estimates from 87 studies and found a statistically significant negative link between ethnic diversity and social trust.

In Austria, Halla, Wagner, and Zweimüller found immigrant inflows into a community significantly raised its vote for the Freedom Party.

As it is with almost every kind of policy or "thinking" on the left, the immigration "cure" gives the patient the very disease it was meant to prevent.

After Angela Merkel opened the borders during the 2015 migrant crisis, the Alternative für Deutschland grew from a fringe of Eurosceptic economists into a mass party. In September 2026 YouGov put it on 29 per cent, eleven points clear of Merz's CDU/CSU, fresh from victory in the Saxony-Anhalt state election.

Measured by the its own yardstick, the multiculturalism-against-Hitler has produced the largest nationalist party Germany has seen since the war.

In October 2010 Merkel herself pronounced the multicultural approach an utter failure.

David Cameron told the Munich Security Conference in February 2011 how state multiculturalism had encouraged separate communities to live apart.

Both went on to preside over record arrivals.

Diagnose the overdose, then double the prescription.

Britain Was Told Its Own Name Was Racist

Britain received this garbage with lottery funding and a launch party. In October 2000 the Runnymede Trust's Commission on the Future of Multi-Ethnic Britain, chaired by Bhikhu Parekh and launched by Home Secretary Jack Straw, reported "Britishness" carried "largely unspoken racial connotations".

More than £350,000 of lottery money later, the remedy on offer was a post-national identity, redrawn to fit a new population.

Within these islands people rarely call themselves British to one another. They are English, Scottish, Welsh, or Irish. "British" is the label of a state and a passport, the word used abroad to spare foreigners a geography lesson.

The commission took the thinnest identity on offer, found even this too ethnic, and recommended thinning it further. The national identities underneath were never consulted, presumably because they would have given the wrong answer.

Tariq Modood, the most ardent defender of British "multiculturalism," has at least been frank about the purpose. He describes it as, from its inception, "a project of nation-remaking".

The nation becomes a kitchen awaiting a refit. Minority identities are fitted into the new units; the majority's inheritance is ripped out and put on the skip for review; the family who own the house are told to wait in the garden.

In October 2009 Andrew Neather, a former speechwriter for Tony Blair, Jack Straw, and David Blunkett, recalled coming away from policy discussions with the clear sense the immigration expansion from 2000 was meant, among other things, to "rub the Right's nose in diversity" and make its arguments obsolete.

He also described a driving political purpose to make Britain truly multicultural, and the original draft of the Cabinet Office report behind the policy was recast before publication for fear of public reaction.

Andrew Neather, who worked for Straw when he was Home Secretary, and as a speech writer for Blair, claimed a secret government report in 2000 called for mass immigration to change Britain's cultural make-up forever.

Neather said there was a "driving political purpose" behind Labour's decision to allow in hundreds of thousands of migrants to plug gaps in the labour market.

He said the stance was foreshadowed by a report by Blair's Performance and Innovation Unit think-tank, which said the nation would benefit from more migrants.

What was this "unit"?

Other units based in the Cabinet Office already work for Downing Street, including the performance and innovation unit, Mr Blair's personal think- tank, which is headed by Geoff Mulgan, who also runs No 10's forward strategy unit, responsible for "blue skies thinking" such as Lord Birt's ideas on long-term transport policy.

Once the storm broke, he downgraded the political motive to a subsidiary one. A subsidiary purpose remains a purpose. Ministers denied everything, as ministers do.

"Multiculturalism" Is Imaginary Nonsense

The catastrophic intellectual flaw at the centre of "multiculturalism" would embarrass a first-year philosophy student. Cuisine, dress, festivals, and music can sit side by side indefinitely. Moral codes cannot.

Liking Vietnamese restaurants nearby is not the same as agreeing they can serve cats and dogs as food on the menu.

  1. One community holds a man may mock any religion he pleases. Another holds blasphemy must be punished.
  2. One holds a woman may marry whom she chooses. Another holds the family decides.
  3. One holds apostasy is a private matter. Another holds it a crime.

No public square can run both rules at once.

The state must choose, and every time it chooses it exposes the multiculture as a fiction.

What actually governs is a single overarching code: equality law, individual rights, and procedural tolerance, administered by courts and quangos. Postwar liberal democracy, or the "open society."

Minority cultures are recognised, funded, consulted, and protected.

The historic majority culture alone is treated as negotiable: its festivals rebranded, its history "decolonised", its name declared racially abusive, its national feeling scored on Adorno's scale.

The fantasy of "multiculturalism" promises a society with no dominant culture and delivers one with a dominant culture it refuses to name, and a single designated enemy it names constantly.

Fascism = When The Right Uses Authority

Marcuse's most durable gift to Europe is the elastic word at the centre of the idea. Fascism once described a specific thing: a one-party state, a cult of the leader, militarised street gangs, the abolition of independent courts and a free press, and expansion by war.

It now describes anybody who wants lower immigration and has a reasonable chance of winning. The word has been stretched so far it fits a retired bus driver in Doncaster and Benito Mussolini with room to spare.

In December 2024 Romania's Constitutional Court annulled a presidential election after an outsider the establishment loathed topped the first round, citing foreign interference in his campaign.

In May 2025 Germany's domestic intelligence service classified the AfD as a confirmed right-wing extremist organisation, while the other parties maintained a Brandmauer, a firewall, against any cooperation with a party backed by roughly a quarter of the electorate.

Half of Germans now want the firewall dropped.

Marcuse would recognise the method at once: tolerance withdrawn from one side in advance, justified by a crime it has not committed and might never commit.

Montero's jar belongs in the same tyrannical cabinet. The idea "left" is a synonym for nice went out the window with Stalin.

Once millions of ordinary voters are reclassified as fascists, replacing them stops sounding like an assault on democracy and starts sounding like pest control.

What Actually Stops A Hitler

Weimar's lessons are not mysterious, and none of them involves a passport office. It's highly convenient for anyone on the left to link discussion of ultra-liberal sodomy city of Weimar with neo-nazism. It was objectively a haven of child prostitution which created the first monstrous "sex change" surgeries and visiting British soldiers often described as a "bugger's paradise" provoking vomiting from the smell.

What repelled British officers in Berlin and elsewhere with an almost physical nausea was the open and blatant evidence, which confronted us wherever we went, of the unnatural. That "dark" offence [... ] "which is not so much as to be mentioned among Christians", flourished like a horrible fungus in the moral decay around us. It seemed to be accepted as a matter of course. "Soliciting" by men was practised with the most shameless impudence in the streets, the Tiergarten, the foyers of fashionable hotels, as though they were licensed by the police. Even in polite society one German would say of another, and his tastes, "Er ist homosexual" [sic], as one might speak of a man being fond of cricket or golf. (MORGAN, 1945, p. 195).

Screenwriter Ben Hecht simply described it as a "prime breeding ground of evil".

For suppressing political violence and fascism, the answer is simpler.

  1. Keep the currency sound.
  2. Keep people in work.
  3. Give the constitution no emergency trapdoor for a president to open.
  4. Keep the army loyal to the law and the courts independent of the ruling party.
  5. Let governments lose, and let the losers leave.

Poland and Hungary have just demonstrated the last two in the most uniform corner of the continent, without a single foreign chaperone.

None of these safeguards requires changing who lives in the country.

Each depends on something the doctrine is busy grinding down: a people confident enough in its own institutions to correct its own mistakes, and trusting enough of one another to accept the result.

A nation afraid of itself imports hostile strangers to fill its skills list as a new electorate for the worst left-wing culprits, then calls anyone who questions the undemocratic protocols to smuggle in unwarranted new arrivals a fascist. A nation sure of itself votes out its bad governments and goes back to work.

Our political class has spent sixty years insisting its own peoples are the first kind of nation. The evidence keeps proving them the second, and the political class keeps refusing to read it.
